Celebrating Small Victories

Celebrating Small Victories

I used to be a person who didn’t like to toot his own horn because I didn’t want to sound like an egotistical maniac who was great at everything and needed constant recognition for it. Slowly though I’m trying to moderate some self-praise into my life because it’ll help kick out the negative thoughts.

TL:DR – I have 100 Likes on my blog and I wanted to share it with you all! :D

  1. We really do need to stop criticizing ourselves and think positively about the things we can do. I really believe that we could accomplish more if we could remember to think kindly about ourselves and be thankful for what we are able to do.

Growing up under constant criticism did not help me do better. Ever unkind word was another link in a chain that kept my aspirations from growing into accomplishments. Sometimes it seems we have taken up the whip of criticism laid down by our parents or peers to continue the negative thoughts about our lack of worth.

    • As someone who never gave myself credit for anything, I didn’t really develop any sense of self-worth growing up. On the other side of the coin I was more than willing to beat myself into the ground with negativity so I feel that a little praise will help build me up but not turn me into an ego monster. Plus it gave me an excuse to post something, always a good thing in my book.
